Joanna was born in Gdańsk where she grew up and graduated from the University of Gdańsk with a master’s degree in Pedagogy with a specialisation in Early Education and Teaching English. Two days after her graduation she was on a plane flying to London, where she spent the past 14 years. She started her professional career working with children in private nurseries. For many years, she worked as a preschool teacher in a high-achieving private nursery in South London, Gwendolen House Nursery School. After having her daughter, she decided to work as a supply teacher and started her adventure with mainstream schools. In 2013, she began working in Argyle Primary School in Kings Cross where she taught Nursery as well as Reception classes. She is extremely fascinated by creative scheme of writing ‘Talk 4 Writing’ which was created by Pie Corbett and which was successfully embedded in Nursery as well as Reception learning. She looks forward to moving back to her hometown although she knows London will always have a very special place in her heart.




Firuza graduated from Baku Engineering University in Azerbaijan. She studied Chemistry Education in English. After working in a laboratory, she realised that she absolutely must do something related to English and children. She gets along very well with kids, especially the younger ones. She has worked for a while as an English teacher at the American Academy in Azerbaijan. She has IELTS score of 6, as well International Turkish Language Certificate. She came to Poland with her husband and she is happy being here and glad to work at BISG. Because she is eager to learn new culture, new food and to meet new people. In her spare time, Firuza loves to read , swim and walk.




Karolina graduated from the Uiniversity of Gdańsk with B.A in Early Education with English. From an early age, British culture was her great interest. Quickly, she fell in love with their accent as well. She knew that she wanted to do something related to English in the future. She loves watching documentary films - especially crime ones - it's her main hobby. In the free time, she loves to cycle and bake pastries. Her lifetime motto is: always be a good and kind human being.

Aleksandra graduated from the University of Gdańsk where she earned her master’s degree in Special Education. She also earned her postgraduate degree in Preschool and Early School Education as well as a diploma in Maria Montessorri's Early Childchood Education. Aleksandra has been working as a preschool teacher since 2008. In her work, she loves meeting children's needs, interests and talents. Currently, she is stretching her experience in using elements of the Montessori Method outside of a Montessorian classroom. In her free time, she works for the Polish Montessori Institute as a trainer, learns about Asperger's syndrome and diabetes mellitus or she sews bags on a sewing machine.





Maria Damrath is a graduate of the University of Gdańsk, where she completed a B.A. Degree in Teaching English and an M.A. in Pedagogy. Her teaching adventure started in Gdańsk, where she worked mostly with children in both state schools and private language schools. Constant willingness to evolve and the fascination with British culture led her to the UK, where for several years she continued working in a Pre-prep school, which enabled her to develop new skills and gain professional experience. During her stay in England she had the opportunity to explore children’s literature and she fell in love with picture books. In her free time, she writes reviews of children’s books on her blog called Let’s read in English and encourages teachers and parents to read to children in English.




Magdalena has obtained a degree in Early Education with English. She loves to get to know new cultures and languages, at the moment Italian and Danish. She enjoys travelling, playing the guitar, art and doing various sport activities after work. She believes less is more.


Anna Sobieszek


Anna is a teaching assistant in Nursery JA. She graduated from the University of Gdańsk nwith a B.A. in Early Education with English and started studyig to obtain a Master's degree. So far, Ania has gained experience teaching English to young learners in a language school. She is an optimist who loves working with children. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, watching TV series and cooking.





klaudia nieroda


English has always been important for Klaudia Nieroda. Studies at the University of Gdańsk, majoring in English Philology helped her to deepen her passion. Working in British International School allows her to develop her next passion which is childcare. Watching the progress of children pleases her the most. In her spare time, she likes to watch old movies, read American and British literature, and cook.




She was born in a lovely town in the north-east part of Poland where she disovered the mysterious and fascinating world of books. Anna graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin with master's degree in Polish Philology. Then, she embarked on a journey to explore the world. What she finally discovered was that she wants to be an English teacher. Therefore, she completed an ESL postgraduated studies at the University of Warsaw. She worked as a teaching assistant, Polish and English teacher for international, Polish and language schools. Reading is still her greatest passion but Anna also loves to dance and travel as much as she can.


maja kowalewska


Maja has worked at BISG since 2016. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Nursery teacher and an English Teacher. She graduated from the University of Gdańsk with a B.A. in Early Education with English. She also has a Master's Degree in Supporting of Early Development of Children with Disabilities. Additionally, Maja completed Physiotherapy studies in the Management College. In her free time, she practices Christian meditation and does various physical activities.




Izabela was born in Tricity where she grew up and graduated from the Univeristy of Gdansk with B. A. in Early Education with English and now she will start her master's degree in the same field at GWSH. Izabela has worked in BISG since 2018, previously as a after-school care (świetlica) teacher. This year she is a teaching assistant in class 0. Izabela likes to spend her free time with friends and she also loves to watch TV series and listen to music.




Robert was born in Lambeth, London. He moved to the South West of England in the 1980’s with his family. He studied Primary Education at Rolle College, Exmouth and was awarded his teaching degree from the University of Plymouth in 1994. He has worked in a range of different primary schools in both London and Devon, from large inner city to small village. He has taught all age groups from Year 1 to Year 7. His last primary position was for twelve years in a Catholic school in East Devon where he was responsible for Science, Music and Religious Education.  He holds a Certificate of Education in Catholic School Leadership from St. Mary’s College, Twickenham. Robert’s most recent position was at an agricultural college working with students with special educational needs. Robert lives in Gdansk with his wife, Julia and three children. He enjoys playing badminton, cycling and running. He is passionate about reading and music- his favourite author is Graham Greene and he plays the piano and trumpet.




Agnieszka graduated from Szczecin University with a master’s degree in Polish philology. She has also recently completed postgraduate studies with a degree in Preschool and Early Years Education. For a decade and a half, Agnieszka was living in the United Kingdom where she received professional training in teaching Polish as a second language, English as Additional Language (EAL), Special Educational Needs (SEN) support and, most importantly, being a class teacher in English primary school. She spent nearly 15 years living in Reading, south of England, where she taught at a Polish Saturday School but also worked as a Polish interpreter for Reading Borough Council (local authorities) and ran a Polish language course at Reading College. For the last 6 years, Agnieszka worked in various primary schools in Reading. She gained her experience first as a EAL and SEN support which allowed her to then quickly move on to Early Years class teacher position. Her last workplace was St. Paul's Catholic Primary School in Reading. In January 2019, it was voted Best Primary School in Berkshire county and top 1% of primary schools in England, achievement that was officially recognized by Secretary of State for Education. Agnieszka strongly believes in an open mind theory where in the right environment every child could fulfill their potential. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching comedies and walking in nature.


lucyna draczyńska


Lucyna Draczyńska is a Reception teacher. Before she gained teaching experience as an English teacher at SWPS University, in a preschool and in language schools. She graduated from the University of Gdańsk where she completed an M.A. in Early Education. In later years, she completed postgraduate studies in Applied Behaviour Analysis, speech therapy and working with children with special educational needs. She also has a history of working as an author of educational multimedia courses for children with special educational needs. She loves to make children enjoy gaining knowledge and watch them discover how fascinating the world is. In her spare time, she likes to play board games, travel and cycle.




Natalia joined the British International School Gdańsk in 2011. She graduated from the University of Gdansk with B.A. in Early Education with English, and M.A. in Pedagogy of Early Education. Natalia also completed Management in Education postgraduate studies. She holds a number of CPD certificates including Assessment for Learning, Jolly Phonics and Grammar, Dyslexia in the Foreign Language Classroom and many more. Natalia took a gap year which she spent in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She also worked for several years as an English teacher before BISG. Natalia has taught various age groups from the Foundation Stage to KS2. She particularly enjoyed teaching Year 3 at BISG. He favourite part of teaching is being able to implement a project-oriented approach, which enables children to participate in variety of fun educational activities, such as experiments, cooking, building things from recyclables, making mock-ups etc. In her spare time, she spends quality time with her husband and little son. Natalia loves travelling, her all-time favourite destination is Spain.


Karolina Kryszewska


Karolina is a Class 0 teacher assistant from 2017. In 2010, she established a team for young scouts aged 6-9. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Gdańsk with B.A. in Early Education with English and she is doing the Master Degree. She used to work as a teacher assistant during her last year of Bachelor studies and then she continued to teach English in two pre-schools and in Go Global Language School teaching class 0 and class 2. She has great experience o working as a counsellor at holiday camps, taking care of the youngest. She loves having fun with kids, cycling, rollerblading, camping and playing the guitar.


anna świetlińska


Anna Świetlińska has earned a Master of Arts degree from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk with specialisation in teaching and percussion instruments. Her has gained experience by attending musical elementary and high schools, as well as a post-diploma period at Conservatoire de Musique in Brest, France. She plays various percussion instruments ranging from marimba, through timpani to drum sets. She performed live with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk. She also plays the piano, the violin and the recorder. Anna's love for travelling brought her to live in many countries; she spent 3 years in England and over 10 years in the United States where she graduated from a medical college.


paulina bobrowicz - tempińska


Paulina spent 7 years of her childhood in the Democratic Republic of Kongo in Africa, where she learnt French, as Zair (its name then) was at that time a Belgium colony. As a grown woman, she graduated in Roman Philology at the University of Gdańsk (specialised in Teaching French as a Foreign Language) and obtained qualifications of a sworn translator in French. Paulina has been teaching French for 15 years and hopes to do it as long as possible. She is a mother of a 8-year-old boy Paweł with whom she loves to swim, play football or bascetball and read.




Marta graduated from German Studies (Teacher's Specialization) at the University of Gdańsk in 2007. Since then she has gained her professional experience working with both children and adults. Currently, she mainly teaches the youngest children. Marta has a husband and two children with whom she enjoys swimming, sailing and skiing. She likes to cycle around the city and spend time in the garden.




Anna started working in British International School Gdańsk in 2011. At first, she worked as a science teacher. Anna graduated from the Gdańsk University with a Master's degree in ecophysiology of animals. Since 2017, she has been a school psychologist. Anna graduated from the Gdańsk University of Psychology with a master's degree in clinical psychology.  She is also trained as a family therapist, she completed the full trainig of Kids Skills programme, which is dedicated to children. Travelling and reading books is her biggest passion that's why she decided to make her dream come true and, with her best friend, she runs a very small "Bookarnik", that provides therapeutic books for children.




Agnieszka Rozwadowska is a Speech Therapist in British International School Gdańsk. She graduated in Speech Therapy from University od Gdańsk and she is finishing her master’s degree in Special Education also at University of Gdańsk. During her sessions, the comfort of a child is her priority. For Agnieszka, working with children is very satisfying and gratifying. It is also a big opportunity for her to discover children’s world. In her free time, she likes watching Netflix and cooking vegetarian food. 




Alicja comes from Podlasie and has been living in Gdańsk for 15 years. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk. After graduation, she worked mainly in non-governmental organizations because she likes to combine work with helping others. In the meantime, due to her interest in matters of faith and spirituality, she graduated in theology in Gdynia. She has always loved children, which is why two years ago she decided to change her professional direction and become a religion teacher. To this end, she also completed pedagogical studies in Gdańsk. Alicja has been working at BISG since 2018. He likes to spend time actively, especially cycling and swimming, as well as hanging out with friends and reading books.



Melissa was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She enjoyed studying and playing sports throughout her elementary and high school, especially cross country running and Nordic skiing.  Melissa was accepted into the teaching program at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in Early Childhood Education.  Melissa has always had a passion for teaching and loves interacting with children.  She has worked in daycares, kindergartens and a variety of school settings.  For nine years she lived and taught at International schools in China. Melissa is very adventurous and loves exploring new places. She has travelled to Australia, Europe and all around Asia.  During her travels she enjoyed meeting people and learning about different cultures.  In Shanghai, China she met her Polish husband and got married. Their son Oliver was born there too. His Chinese name is “Xiao Bai Long” , which means “Little White Dragon”. Melissa enjoys spending her time with her family and friends. In her spare time she likes to go to the gym.


Adriana Wielgosz

Adriana has graduated from the University of Gdańsk in the Early Childhood Education in English. In her career, she was a 3rd grade teacher and she also had classes with special needs children. This experience gave her a whole new look on how to work with kids. Since she was 16, she babysat for a couple of families, caring for children age 6 months - 5 years. She also gained experience doing student practice in public and private kindergartens, as well as in an integrated primary school. There, not only did she took care of the children but also conducted general and English lessons. Adriana is also a make-up artist, it's her hobby and a second job.
