Welcome to the British International School Gdańsk. I trust this website will give you some insight into how we seek to provide the best possible education for the students of the school.
Here at BISG we provide a safe and caring environment that aims to educate young people to the highest standards. Our classes are small, with 15 students on average. Children are taught by dedicated, motivated and well-qualified teachers; supported, in the lower years, by teaching assistants. The children enjoy high quality facilities and services. Our teachers differentiate to students of all abilities and all students achieve to the best of their ability.
In the Primary section of the school have specialist teachers in Modern Foreign Languages (Mandarin, Spanish, French and German), Science, History, ICT, Mathematics, Ethics, Religion, Sport, Drama, Music and Art.
In Pre-School we have specialist teachers in PE, Spanish or Mandarin, Music and Drama.
We hold to traditional values of good manners, pride in appearance, respect, responsibility and the development of self-discipline. We hope that our students learn the importance of peace, justice and freedom; that they learn to deal with change; that they become creative and critical thinkers; that they learn how to learn and develop a lifelong passion for learning.
We follow British Curriculum, which is based on International Primary Curriculum in classes 1-6 and International Middle Years Curriculum in classes 6-8. For Polish students we also cover the requirements of the Polish Curriculum. This is enriched by a wide variety of clubs, for all students, that occur after school.
Our community represents a multitude of countries (currently we have children from over 40 different countries) and our teachers are experienced at integrating students with a wide variety of cultural, linguistic and academic backgrounds. The diversity of our community enriches us all and it is something we celebrate.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school. Please feel free to contact us to arrange a visit. If you are interested in information for admission, you will find it here in the enrollment section. Additionally, trail days can be arranged if these are needed.
