The Principal of the British International School Gdansk is Robert Grisdale who has extensive experience in the field of international education. Mr. Grisdale previously worked as a teacher and the KS2 coordinator in the British School Warsaw for seven years. Following this, he was Head of Primary and Foundation at Garden International School, Rayong, Thailand for seven years. In addition, earlier in his career, he worked as a Research Officer at Cambridge University where he worked on a number of publications for QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) in the UK. Moreover, he is a co-author of a number of Polish Maths exercise books in the series 'Matematyka wokół nas'. Robert Grisdale has four degrees being a graduate of Cambridge University, where he completed an MPhil in Educational Research; the Institute of Education in London University, where he completed an MA in School Effectiveness and School Improvement; Bangor University, where he obtained a teaching degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (PGCE) and Durham University, where he studied Geography (BA Hons). He is also an experienced School Inspector for the Council of International Schools (CIS) as well as an international bridge player. Mr. Grisdale has led the British International School Gdańsk since June 2013.

Katarzyna Lewicka-Gridale is Deputy Head, as well as the English and Drama teacher for the British International School Gdansk. She previously worked as an English and Drama teacher in the British School Warsaw for six years. Following this, she was Head of English and Drama at Garden International School, Rayong, Thailand for seven years. She has three degrees being a graduate of Cambridge University, where she completed an MPhil in Philosophy and Sociology of Education; London University, Central School of Speech and Drama, where she completed a teaching degree in English and Drama (PGCE) and Plymouth University, where she studied English (BA Hons, 1st Class). Earlier in her career, she worked as a Research Officer at Plymouth University and published some of her work in the Cambridge Journal of Education and in a book on 'Education in Europe: Policies and Politics'. In her free time she enjoys yoga and outdoors sports. Mrs. Grisdale has worked in the British International School Gdańsk since June 2013.

Joanna Żurawska is the secretary at BISG. She graduated from the University of Gdańsk with a M.A. in Scandinavian Studies, a specialisation that she chose due to her interest in travelling and learning new languages and cultures. Joanna takes great pleasure working at the British International School Gdansk as she enjoys working in a challenging and multicultural environment. In her spare time, she likes reading books about World War II history, listening to music and doing sports.
Piotr has graduated in English Philology from the University of Gdansk. He continuously thrives in exploring the secrets of English language and culture as he, at a very young age, discovered it to be one of his greatest fascinations. In his spare time, he learns Spanish and watches an abundance of films, which are his second favourite thing, for he believes they are the window to the world of human soul and ideas that could not be expressed any other way. Piotr values precision and dedication, both in his relationship with friends and family, as well as his job. He is a new asset to the British International School and hopes his high spirits and good heart will find their home in this multicultural community he is beyond happy to be a part of.
Ula Korsak comes from Kętrzyn, situated in scenic Mazury. She graduated in Finance and Banking from the University of Warmia-Masuria. The last nine years she spent in the United Kingdom. In 2016, she has started her job at BISG, which gives her great joy and she loves working and growing professionally in an international environment.

Agnieszka was born and raised in Gdańsk. She studied Applied Linguistics and currently she is continuing her adventure with foreign languages studying Spanish Philology. Dorota Jaros is a Reception teacher. She has worked as an English teacher in several preschool and language schools in Tri-City. She has always wanted to teach young children as they are eager to learn and excited about world. She has a passion for kids and she loves to build on their imagination and she incorporates it into learning. Working with children gives her a lot of satisfaction as each day is different and surprising. Dorota Jaros graduated from the University of Gdańsk with Masters degree in English and Postgraduate studies in Early Years Education.

Jagoda is a teacher of Nursery JA. After her A-level exams, Jagoda went to London, where she worked as a support worker in a care home for children with Special Needs. Whilst working in London, she gained an NVQ2 in Health and Social Care. Afterwards, she returned to Gdańsk, where she graduated from the University of Gdańsk in the Pedagogy faculty, after which she worked in a day care centre for people with disabilities. Jagoda has been working in BISG since 2013. Jagoda is an animal lover, and in her spare time she likes walking with her dog. She enjoys sports including swimming, and during primary and secondary school she was the captain of the school volleyball team. She has been skiing since her early childhood. She also likes reading.

Ilaria comes from Italy, is married and has got two children. She has a degree in Professional Educator Community, and after graduation, she worked for some time with special needs teens in a high school. For six years, Ilaria worked in a nursery with children age 0-3. She loves to write books, make up tales and games for children to develop their creative abilities and stimulate their imagination. Games also improve their dexterity and psychomotor skills. She loves having fun with them and observing children's growth.

Katarzyna Bąk is the Reception DK teaching assistant. She graduated from the University of Gdańsk with B. A. in Early Education with English and is continuing to obtain a Master's degree. So far, Kasia has been teaching English to children in language schools and volunteered as a special educator for children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She spent several summers working in England and getting real experience with everyday language. Kasia enjoys travelling, roller skating and baking.

Klaudia Zwalińska is a Class 0 teacher in the British International School Gdańsk. Klaudia has worked in the British International School Gdańsk since October 2013, previously as a Świetlica teacher, then as a Teacher Assistant. Klaudia loves people and the world around her. She graduated from Akademia Marynarki Wojennej with a B.A. in Pedagogy. She holds M.A. degree from the University of Gdańsk in Rehabilitation Pedagogy. Ewelina enjoys dancing and singing in every possible moment. She tries to spread positive vibes all around her. In addition to that, she likes to read books and sp time with animals. Maja has worked at BISG since 2016. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Nursery teacher and an English Teacher. Additionally, Maja completed Physiotherapy studies in the Management College. In her free time, she goes into Christian meditation and does various physical activities.

Adriana has graduated from the University of Gdańsk in the Early Childhood Education in English. In her career, she was a 3rd grade teacher and she also had classes with special needs children. This experience gave her a whole new look on how to work with kids. Since she was 16, she has babysat for a couple of families, caring for children age 6 months - 5 years. She also gained experience doing student practice in public and private kindergartens, as well as in an integrated primary school. There, not only did she take care of the children but also conducted general and English lessons. Adriana is also a make-up artist, it's her hobby and a second job. It's enough to say that creativity is her strong asset. This year, Adriana is starting M.A. studies at the University of Gdańsk and after that she will become a certified teacher for special needs children.

Anna Świetlińska has earned a Master of Arts degree from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk with specialisation in teaching and percussion instruments. Her music experience also includes attending musical elementary and high schools, as well as a post-diploma period at Conservatoire de Musique in Brest, France. She plays various percussion instruments ranging from marimba, through timpani to drum sets. She performed live with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk. She also plays the piano, the violin and the recorder. Anna's love for travelling brought her to live in many countries; she spent 3 years in England and over 10 years in the United States where she graduated from a medical college, specialiaing in medical laboratory analysis and her favorite subject phlebotomy. She has four sons and all of them have attended British International School in Gdańsk since she moved back to Poland in 2012. Anna's big passion are horses and her spare time is always filled with rides in the saddle.

Robert was born in Lambeth, London. He moved to the South West of England in the 1980’s with his family. He studied Primary Education at Rolle College, Exmouth and was awarded his teaching degree from the University of Plymouth in 1994. He has worked in a range of different primary schools in both London and Devon, from large inner city to small village. He has taught all age groups from Year 1 to Year 7. His last primary position was for twelve years in a Catholic school in East Devon where he was responsible for Science, Music and Religious Education. He holds a Certificate of Education in Catholic School Leadership from St. Mary’s College, Twickenham. Robert’s most recent position was at an agricultural college working with students with special educational needs. Robert lives in Gdansk with his wife, Julia and three children. He enjoys playing badminton, cycling and running. He is passionate about reading and music- his favourite author is Graham Greene and he plays the piano and trumpet.

Kevin Reilly graduated with a B.A. Honours Degree in English and Teaching at Greenwich University, London in 2001. He has taught in many schools in Gdańsk since 2008 (including two international schools) and in 2011, he started a successful English language school - GO global - which he and his wife continue to lead. He enjoys running, writing and spending time with his family as well as restoring old things and making cool things from junk.

Anna graduated from the Poznań University of Economics with a Master's degree in Economics. Additionally, she completed Pedagogical Training at the Poznań University of Economics. She holds the Certificate of Proficiency in English issued by the Cambridge University. She has also completed the postgraduate studies in Early Years Education at the University of Gdańsk. Since 2016, she has been a teacher of Class 0. Anna is a mum of two daughters - Natasza and Nela. Travelling is her biggest passion. Anna runs the BISG Baby Group.

Kamila Cisewska has graduated from the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk. She worked as a physical education and swimming teacher in Gdańsk Autonomous Primary School, where she gained experience and found satisfaction in working with children and young people. Also, Kamila has worked in the International School of Gdansk. She is a trainer of volleyball, basketball, and handball. She is also a fitness instructor. Her favourite game is soccer.

Zofia Plucińska graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, finishing the Faculty of Fine Arts. She finds art to be the most fascinating record of human dreams, being the “signum temporis", a reflection of its own era, yet carrying a universal message, above all – beautiful. She is a painter but also continues to study art theory - its historical and cultural background, being happy to be able to share her enthusiasm and knowledge. She has taught both adults and children, always discovering that teaching is the best way to learn. “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up” (P. Picasso).
As a guide around the Tricity, she wishes to publicise knowledge about the cities and their exceptional history. In her free time, she enjoys spending time away from the city, constantly exploring our unique and varied region, from time to time choosing more distant destinations.

Tomasz Garstkowiak holds a Master's Degree in Polish Philology from the University of Gdańsk. He has been working with children and teenagers since 2005. Apart from teaching Polish, he also deals with film education. He organises cultural and educational events and runs workshops for children. He has cooperated with many cultural institutions in Tri-city and in Poland. Since 2005, he has been running a Film Discussion Club in Sopot. He is also engaged in music creation for children. He was awarded a scholarship of the Marshal of Pomeranian Province (2011) and the President of Sopot (2013).

Natalia Topolewska is a teacher of Polish Language and History. She graduated in Polish Philology and History at the University of Gdańsk. Monika graduated in Informatics from the University of Gdańsk. She also obtained a postgraduate certificate in Mathematics for Teachers at the Gdansk University of Technology, followed by Pedagogical Therapy at Socio-Economic University in Gdansk. She started off as an IT teacher at a primary school where she still works. She continues to work with all age groups both as a Maths and IT and occasionally as a Świetlica teacher. Working among young people, however rewarding, is often a challenge and brings Monika heaps of satisfaction. Her free time she devotes mostly to a good book, her friends, all the board or card games she can find, as well as... her adopted pussycat that pushes her buttons regularly.
Małgorzata Mordal graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. During her gap year, she undertook a six-month trip around the world which allowed her to make use of all her geographical skills learnt in the classroom and implement them into a real world situation. She completed her doctoral studies in the field of geotourism at the University of Warsaw. Małgorzata gained the majority of her English language skills and culture experiences whilst living in the South East of England during a three-year stay in the coastal towns of Eastbourne and Hastings. During her time spent in the UK, she also graduated from the CLIL course. Bilingualism plays a big role in Małgorzata’s personal life as well as her working career. She is a mother to a bilingual boy and has over 6 years experience in teaching geography in the English language. In her spare time, Małgorzata’s main passions are water sports (including winter swimming) and travelling. She also enjoys reading and is a keen follower of the social sciences.

Łukasz graduated in Theology from the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw. He has finished postgraduate studies in Education and Rehabilitation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Gdańsk, as well as postgraduate Ethics studies at the Ateneum University. He has obtained a postgraduate certificate in Computer Graphics and Multimedia. Aside from BISG, he works as a teaching assistant and a homeroom teacher in a primary school. In addition, he is an Ethics teacher. For a while, Łukasz lived in Wadowice and Warsaw. He loves reading books a lot, from philosophical and theological ones through adventure and travel, up to historical and non-fiction. He enjoys riding a bike, canoeing, hiking or skiing. From time to time, he likes to dive into a swimming pool or a lake. Łukasz values time spent in the open.
